Val’s Cheesecakes
Val's Cheesecakes is a boutique cheesecakery. Val's Cheesecakes offers a dozen flavors of BAKED cheesecake 4oz jars. We also bake a famous cookie which is the Oatmeal Bacon Cranberry cookie and one of the top ten decadent Dallas chocolate dessert which is the Chipotle Pepper Brownie as voted by Zagat Dallas.
History
Established in 2012.
After moving to Dallas in 2008 to take a civil engineering job, Jean-Bart (who goes by 'Val') decided to start a dessert business with his friend, Christopher Reece. They launched Val's Food with a Twist in December of 2012 after spending four years taking care of his mom, sick with terminal cancer. For years, he would experiment on Sundays for his mom, who loved cheesecake day. In 2012, after his mother passed, Jean-Bart decided to write a letter to Matt Spillers, chef and owner of Oddfellows, Eno's, and Union Bear and soon after his cheesecakes were available at many fine eateries in Dallas. Realizing the cheesecakes were their strength, they concentrated and started Val's Cheesecakes operating under Val's Food with a Twist and have been baking at St Paul United Methodist Church since. A brick and mortar is set to open by Summer 2015 in Uptown Dallas.
